You know the old saying – Why wait for someone else to publish your stuff when you can publish it yourself?
…Actually come to think of it, that may be something I pulled out of thin air just this second, but it certainly rings true when we look at the emerging world of online magazines, and the potential they have for many brands and businesses.
There are already companies which have been producing their own print publications for years. Qantas’ The Australian Way is one example. However, with a 23% increase in online advertising revenue in the first quarter of this year alone, it’s perhaps old news that online is clearly the place to be.
Previously, an online magazine simply referred to the website of an existing print publication, but now we’re seeing that online magazines can become the new way to deliver effective, targeted content to a brand’s audiences.
