DPO/ HMO Weekend Race Report

Starting from position 2, Will Brown made a clean start and lead the field into turn one.

An early race caution didn’t affect Will’s pace as he streaked away from the field to win comfortably.

Nathan on the other hand had a battle’s all race. With only a handful of laps remaining Morcom was getting frustrated with the Alfa of Cox ahead. “He was blocking badly” stated Morcom.

I was going to put one on him at the back of the complex when I had an issue that put me in the gravel trap.

“Gutted” was the terminology Morcom used post-race.

Both cars were serviced overnight in preparation for today’s final two races.

Race 2

Starting under warm and sunny conditions, Will jumped to the lead from pole position.

He lead until half race distance where he ran wide on the very fast triple right hander and Aaron Cameron took the lead.

With nothing to gain from pushing hard, Will finished second.

Due to his DNF from yesterday’s race Morcom started from the back of the field.

Nathan turned it on from the drop of the green passing cars left right and center.

The team gave him a great car and he finished a fantastic 6th.

Race 3

The final race of the year was like a bag of boiled lollies.

You just didn’t know what one you’d get.

Brown took the lead briefly but by the time they got to turn one he got swamped.

The race was uneventful, and Will finished in 3rd.

Nathan had the race of his life however.

Starting from position 4 it only took him 2 laps to start making moves.

By lap 4 he was in second and gaining on Cox in the Alfa. Just as he went to make a move the Alfa ground to a halt leaving Morcom in the lead.

Nathan held the race lead comfortably for the remaining 7 laps to take his first win of the season.

As reported earlier, Will Brown won the championship with one round to spare.

Nathan finished a creditable 4 in the championship.

On the podium Will say “Im super happy for Nathan getting a win. Well overdue”

The champaign flowed on the podium with to top three in letting loose and then Will Brown covered the crew with his championship bottle with his customary grin from ear to ear.

It’s been a fantastic year in the TCR series. We’ve made some new friends, reunited with some old and won some races.

See you all next year.
